The AgriSETA Discretionary Grants Program is now accepting applications opportunity. This is your opportunity to support skill development through bursaries internships and graduate placement programs if you are an employer, NGO, cooperative, training institution, or organization engaged in agriculture. The program’s goal is to support the agricultural industry while giving young people the training credentials and work experience they need to pursue long-term careers in agriculture and related fields.
By providing funding for a variety of learning and development opportunities the AgriSETA Discretionary Grants Program seeks to address the severe skills shortages in the agriculture industry. Through collaborations with employers, educational institutions, and agricultural organizations the program assists in establishing avenues for students to acquire both academic knowledge and practical industry experience. Bursaries
Please be aware that levy-paying companies may apply for other qualifications that are in line with the sector priority occupation list, but only agriculture-related qualifications will be supported for unemployed learners applying.
With the exception of Nated courses provided by public TVET and ATVET colleges, bursary funding is available starting at NQF Level 6 for learners. Short courses like the National Certificate and Certificates will not be funded by AgriSETA.
- They ought to have completed at least 50% of the registered modules.
- Funding will not be provided for repeat modules under this program.
- For both undergraduate and graduate students, the bursary is worth R70,800.00.
- Up to R70,800 per learner, all fees will be paid at actual cost.
- Applications from first-year students are encouraged to apply.

Work Integrated Learning (WIL) internships
Only students who need real-world experience to earn a degree from a TVET, agricultural college, or university of technology will be eligible for funding for internships (WIL).
- Students who have previously participated in an internship WIL are not eligible for funding support.
- R60,000 will be provided to University of Technology and Agricultural Colleges for a maximum of 12 months per student.
- TVET Colleges N6 students will receive R90,000 per learner for a period of 18 months.
Students can obtain real-world workplace experience through Work Integrated Learning programs. These internships assist students in putting their academic knowledge into practice honing their technical skills, and getting ready for jobs in the agricultural sector.
Placement of Graduates
Only graduates who need work experience to improve their chances of employment or self-employment will be eligible for funding.
- The placement will last for a full year duration.
- R60,000.00 for each student will be provided as funding.
Graduate placement programs give eligible graduates the chance to obtain valuable experience in the workplace.
